Ghanaian actor and comedian Kalybos has narrated an event that earned him a cheque of GHS100,000 in the year 2016.

He earned that money after he decided to take photos with some kids while on the Osu road.

Kalybos recounted the event while on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with arts and culture journalist Kwame Dadzie.

“One time I was in a heavy traffic on the Osu road and a car pulled up by my side and I could see he had gone to pick up his kids. And they saw me. So they were all happy about it. They wanted to take a picture and the father told them they were in traffic."

"I watched ahead of me and realised the traffic was heavy, so I got down from my car, and asked if I could sit at the back, and I sat at the back. We took pictures, the man was just shocked and was looking at me. And he took my number."

The moment, however, turned out to be more than just a photo opportunity.

“So he invited me to his office, I went there, we had a little chat and then he gave me an envelope,” Kalybos said.

“Something told me that I should open it. I opened the envelope and it was a cheque. You wanna hear the amount? The biggest free bono money I have ever had in my life. It was a hundred thousand Ghana cedis,” he said.

A similar incident happened to Ghanaian actress and singer Efia Odo.

In 2023, she was gifted an amount of GHS5,000 for dressing in a fully covered outfit to church.

She was spotted in a red dress made by Xesi Apparel at the Maker's House Chapel on April 23.

She received tons of compliments from her followers for the decent look.

Days after she posted a photo of herself in the outfit, a Ghanaian entrepreneur expressed her desire to gift Efia an amount of GH¢5,000 for her Sunday dress, which she explained made her stand out.

Efia Odo took to her social media page to document her meeting with her new friend, who handed over GH¢5,000 cash to the actress as promised.
