The 1 Infantry Battalion (1BN) has held a comprehensive field operations demonstration for cadets of the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) Regular Career Course Intake 64, aimed at deepening their understanding of tactical command and battlefield coordination.
The exercise, titled Battalion Headquarters in the Field, provided cadets with an overview of the structure, functions, and operational dynamics of a battalion headquarters.
The session emphasized the critical role headquarters play as the nerve centre for managing and responding to security threats in combat scenarios.
Cadets were taken through key military components, including command post operations, battalion appointments, tactical formations, and operational layouts.
The interactive session featured weapon displays, site tours, and simulated combat activities designed to give cadets practical exposure and help them acclimate to real-world battlefield conditions.
In a related development, the Central Command has also organized an Explosive Hazard Awareness Training (EHAT) for participants of the Basic Infantry Non-Commissioned Officers Tactical Course (BNTC) at the 3 Infantry Battalion Training Area in Sunyani.
The EHAT was tailored to boost participants' knowledge of explosive threats and provide them with essential techniques for safe handling.
Topics covered included an introduction to various types of explosives, Ground Sounds Awareness, Mine Awareness, the dynamics of footprints, and techniques for assessing explosive age indicators.
Together, these exercises form part of ongoing efforts by the Ghana Armed Forces to enhance military preparedness and equip personnel with the tactical proficiency necessary for modern combat environments.
