President John Dramani Mahama has officially announced the nomination of new District Chief Executives (DCEs) to fill vacant positions in various districts across the country.
This announcement was made in an official statement released on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
The nominations are in line with the provisions set forth in Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2017 (Act 940).
These legal frameworks grant the President the authority to appoint DCEs, subject to their approval by the relevant District Assemblies.
According to the statement, President Mahama has submitted the list of nominees to the local assemblies for consideration and approval.
Once confirmed, the new appointees will assume their roles in managing local governance and driving development projects within their districts.
