Evangelist Patricia Asiedua popularly known as Nana Agradaa has appeared in court for the first time over her legal issue with gospel musician Empress Gifty.
Empress Gifty filed a GHS 20 million defamation lawsuit against Agradaa on May 20th at the Tema High Court for allegedly making defamatory statements against her.
In response, Agradaa took to social media to mock the lawsuit, saying, “Any idiot can go to court.”
However, she has appeared in court today dressed in an all-white outfit, accompanied by her husband, clad in a navy blue suit, for the court summons.
A moment was captured on camera where Agradaa and her husband were seen allegedly throwing the court documents, the writ of summons, onto the ground as they left the courthouse.
Netizens are calling on the judiciary to take disciplinary action against what they consider as a disrespect to the court.
Empress Gifty Adorye filed a defamation lawsuit at the Tema High Court against Nana Agradaa.
Her husband, Hopeson Adorye, indicated that the lawsuit was filed through her lawyers, Osei Aidoh Akpokavie and Co., on May 20, 2025.
Empress Gifty's statement of claim has made four claims, including a sum of GH¢20,000,000 for damages for slander and libel.
She has also made a request of the court for a perpetual injunction against the former fetish priestess to restrain Agradaa, “her servants, agents, privies, and assigns howsoever from publication of such words or any of them or similar words to that effect.”
Adding that “an order be made for the defendant to pull down all videos containing the defamatory words of the plaintiff from all her social media platforms” as well as “costs, including lawyers’ professional fees.”
