Gospel singer Celestine Donkor and her husband, Kofi Donkor, have promised to take care of the school fees for two children of DJ Awana, a popular DJ from the Multimedia Group who died a few weeks ago.
They made this promise during a one-week memorial held at Tema Community 2 to honour DJ Awana. Celestine’s husband, who is also her manager, joined her in making the announcement.
They said this is their way of saying thank you to DJ Awana for always supporting their music.
One of the children is in Junior High School and the other is in Senior High School.
DJ Awana, well-known in the Ghanaian entertainment space, died on April 6, 2025, after a short illness. Even though he was quiet, many people respected and admired him for his great DJing skills.
His final funeral will take place on September 27, 2025.
Meanwhile, Celestine Donkor has released a new song called Akorfala.
