Davido was the biggest winner at the 17th Headies Awards held on Sunday in Lagos, Nigeria, taking home the Artiste of the Year and Digital Artiste of the Year awards.
The event celebrated top performers across Africa’s music industry, honouring both rising stars and established acts. Zerry DL picked up the Rookie of the Year award, while Rema’s HEIS album was named Afrobeats Album of the Year.
Tems won Best Recording of the Year for her song “Burning.” Lojay and Liya were recognised for Best Vocal Performance in the male and female categories respectively.
Odumodublvck took home the Next Rated Artist award, a highly anticipated category that saw him beat out Shallipopi, Qing Madi, and Ayo Maff.
Special Recognition Awards were given to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Alex Okosi, and Amaju Pinnick for their support to music and culture.
Organisers also announced that the 18th edition of the Headies will be held in December, following the absence of the show in 2024.
