President John Dramani Mahama has issued a strict ultimatum to all government appointees who have yet to declare their assets, warning that those who fail to comply by the final deadline of May 7, 2025, will be dismissed.
The directive is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to promote transparency and accountability. It follows an earlier deadline of March 31, which some appointees failed to meet.
Speaking at the launch of the Code of Conduct for government appointees in Accra on Monday, May 5, President Mahama underscored the seriousness of the matter, making it clear that no one will be spared the consequences of non-compliance.
“If by close of day, Wednesday, 7th May 2025, any of you still fails to declare your assets, count yourself automatically dismissed because when it comes to protecting the integrity of this government, I will not compromise,” he said.
Mahama also announced financial penalties for defaulters, stating that appointees who missed the March deadline will forfeit three months’ salary and be required to make a mandatory one-month salary donation to the MahamaCares Fund.
