Self-acclaimed Ghanaian event planner Kwame Fordjour, known as Dr. UN, tried to give an award to the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, at the AshantiFest event on April 20, 2025.
But instead of accepting the award himself, Dr. Amoakohene asked Dr. UN to hand it over to someone on his team.
This isn’t the first time Dr. UN has made headlines.
He became popular in 2020 when he organised an event called the “7th Global Leadership Service to Humanity Awards.” At that event, he gave out plaques called the “UN Kofi Annan Excellence Awards” to several well-known people in Ghana, including rapper Sarkodie and TV presenter Berla Mundi.
However, it was later revealed that Dr. UN had no real ties to the United Nations or to the late Kofi Annan. This caused many people to question whether his awards were genuine or just for show.
Now, with this latest incident, people are once again talking about Dr. UN and the way he gives out awards.
