The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Sub-Transmission Accra, has initiated the installation of a mobile transformer in response to increasing electricity demand in Tseaddo and surrounding areas.
The mobile transformer, which has a rating of 20/26 MVA and operates at 33/11 kV, was transported to Tseaddo early this morning at 2:00 AM for installation.
This move is part of ECG's strategy to enhance power supply and improve the reliability of the overall system.
The transformer will temporarily support part of the load currently served by the La Primary Substation, which is under increased demand.
The project, which is fully funded by ECG, is set to benefit various communities, including Tseaddo, La, Teshie, and nearby areas. The mobile unit will play a vital role in providing a stable power supply to these regions until the La Primary Substation is permanently upgraded.
Though this solution is temporary, it is crucial in maintaining an uninterrupted power supply while the long-term infrastructure improvements are underway.
This initiative is aligned with ECG’s ongoing efforts to improve power quality, increase operational efficiency, and support socio-economic development in the region.
