he Ministry of the Interior has announced that Thursday, May 1, 2025, will be observed nationwide as a statutory public holiday in recognition of May Day, also known as Workers' Day.
According to a formal notice issued in Accra on Friday, April 25, the day is to be observed across the country in accordance with Ghana’s holiday laws.
The statement was signed by the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, who emphasized that the day should be treated as a non-working day in honour of the country’s workforce.
May Day is dedicated to celebrating the contributions of workers to national development and is marked with various labour-related activities and events across the country.
