Ghanaian music producer JMJ has finally addressed the rumours surrounding Kaakie’s exit from the Xtra Large Music label.
Speaking with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, JMJ explained that Kaakie left mainly because she didn’t see music as a long-term path, not because of any personal conflict or financial issues.
“What I know that you people didn’t know was that Kaakie loved music, but she wasn’t passionate about it,” he said.
JMJ shared a moment when radio presenter Abeiku Santana asked Kaakie directly if JMJ had “chopped her money or done anything bad,” and she answered “no.”
He added that Kaakie had a hard time juggling music and her studies, especially since she was studying nursing, which is very demanding.
“Kaakie didn’t have time for music but she was so talented that just 10 minutes in the studio would blow your mind. She had little time, and don’t forget, she was also in school. Nursing is not an easy course. So she was balancing the two, which I understood,” JMJ said.
He emphasised that while Kaakie enjoyed doing music, she didn’t see it as a permanent career and eventually decided to focus more on her family and education.
However, Kaakie has recently hinted that she might return to music soon.
