President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has officially resigned from his position as President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.
His decision follows his recent appointment as the 2nd Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
With increased responsibilities at the continental level and his ongoing role at the GFA, Okraku chose to step down from WAFU to ensure that each position gets the focus it requires.
Sources at JoySports say Okraku is eager to dedicate more time to his new role at CAF, confident that capable leaders within WAFU Zone B can carry the torch forward.
As WAFU Zone B President, he championed several key initiatives, including the introduction of youth tournaments for member nations.
Reflecting on his time at WAFU, Okraku thanked the team for their hard work and support.
He also pledged to remain committed to the development of football in West Africa, even as he shifts attention to his broader duties at CAF.
His exit paves the way for new leadership to build on the solid foundation he helped create and guide the union into its next chapter.
