Former rap star turned evangelist, Lord Kenya, has shared his admiration for Ghanaian rapper King Paluta, saying the rising artiste reminds him of his own early days in music.
In an interview on Kessben FM, Lord Kenya—born Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kainya—praised King Paluta’s powerful lyrics and energetic style, adding that the young rapper’s performance brings back memories of his youthful self in the industry.
“One young artiste who reminds me of my early music days is King Paluta. His flow and energy are very much like how I used to sound when I started out,” he shared.
Although he stepped away from secular music over a decade ago to fully embrace his Christian faith, Lord Kenya emphasized that his musical gift remains intact.
“I’ve never stopped making music; it’s a talent God blessed me with. I’d be open to doing a song with King Paluta—but only on one condition: he must accept Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour. Then we can create a gospel song together to glorify God,” he said.
Lord Kenya rose to stardom in the late 1990s with hit songs like Sika Baa, securing his place as one of Ghana’s music legends. Known for his powerful stage performances and thoughtful lyrics, he earned several awards, including Hiplife Album of the Year, and gained international attention.
Originally from Kumasi, Lord Kenya showed talent in both sports and music during his school days. Although his family hoped he would pursue a career in law, his love for music led him down a different path.
In 2010, at the height of his fame, he experienced a spiritual transformation, gave his life to Christ, and left secular music behind. Today, he serves as an evangelist, sharing his journey as a powerful testimony of faith and redemption.
