The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested three men suspected of being involved in a gold robbery at Wassa Afransie in the Western Region.
The individuals; Felix Adjei, also called Africa or Nana Adjei; Emmanuel Kelvin, a Nigerian citizen; and Kofi Appiah, also known as Kesse — are accused of stealing gold valued at GH₵199,000.00 and other items from employees of Mas Palasco Gold Buying Limited.
Per initial reports, on April 4, Kofi Appiah, a driver with the company, and his colleague, Emmanuel Adu, were returning from Wassa Ayiem after collecting gold when armed assailants emerged from the bushes and fired warning shots.
The robbers reportedly fled with 14 pounds of gold, two mobile phones, and an unregistered Toyota Corolla, which was later found abandoned in a nearby community.
Police efforts led to the arrest of Kofi Appiah at his residence in Wassa Akropong on April 21, 2025. His two alleged accomplices were later tracked down and arrested at separate locations.
During the arrests, police retrieved a Jojeff pump-action gun with butt number 168316, a Calymm PDS pistol without a serial number, 25 rounds of 9mm ammunition, an AA cartridge, two G3 rounds, a locally made pistol, and GH₵65,000 believed to be part of the stolen proceeds.
The suspects are currently being held in custody as investigations continue and are expected to be arraigned before court.
