In the wake of Pope Francis's passing, former President John Mahama has conveyed his condolences, describing the pontiff as a global symbol of compassion, humility, and justice.
Shortly after the announcement of the Pope's death, Mahama shared his reflections on social media, emphasizing the Pope's enduring influence:
“His legacy of compassion, humility, and commitment to social justice will continue to inspire generations. His leadership and advocacy for the poor and marginalised resonate deeply.”
He concluded his tribute with a heartfelt wish:
“May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
Extending his sympathies on behalf of his family and the people of Ghana, Mahama addressed the global Catholic community:
“The world woke up to the sad news of Pope Francis’ passing. On behalf of my family and the people of Ghana, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Roman Catholic Church and all Catholic faithful in Ghana during this time of profound grief.”
