Reggae and Dancehall musician Ras Kuuku is asking the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the government to quickly stop harmful drugs, especially a substance called “Red,” from entering Ghana.
Speaking to Adom News during a visit to Akyem Mouso in the Eastern Region, Ras Kuuku said he is very worried about how young people are getting addicted to these dangerous drugs.
He explained that the easy availability of “Red” and other harmful substances is destroying the lives of many young people, affecting both their bodies and minds.
“This is not just a small problem; it’s a big danger to the country’s future,” Ras Kuuku said.
He called on the FDA and the people who check goods at the borders to be more strict and stop these drugs from entering Ghana.
Ras Kuuku also suggested that instead of just chasing drug dealers, the government should create more jobs for the youth, especially in farming.
He believes that if young people have good, profitable jobs, they will stay away from drugs.
"Giving the youth better opportunities is one of the best ways to fight drug addiction," he added.
