Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister for Finance, has sworn in a new nine-member board for the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), appointing Hon. George Ricketts Hagan, Former Deputy Finance Minister as the Chairperson.
The newly formed board has been tasked with the essential role of improving revenue generation and upholding integrity in the administration of taxes within the public sector.
One of the members of the board is Mr. Anthony Sarpong, the current Commissioner of the GRA.
Hon. George Ricketts Hagan has been appointed as the Chairperson of the new board, with Mr. Anthony Sarpong, the Commissioner of the GRA, serving as a member.
Other members of the board include Mr. Patrick Nomo, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, Dr. Zakaria Mumuni, Madam Faustina Nelson, Mr. George Ayiretey, Hon. Laadi Ayamba, and Mr. Francis-Xavier Sosu.
During the inauguration, Dr. Forson emphasized the critical role the GRA plays in national development, noting that the success of government policies hinges on the revenue collected by the Authority.
He called on the new board to maintain the highest levels of dedication and integrity, while taking firm actions to combat smuggling and prevent revenue leakages.
