President John Mahama has chosen new people to serve as District Chief Executives (DCEs) for different districts across the country. This decision follows what the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act say.
The names of the nominees were released in a statement from the Office of the President, signed by the President’s Secretary, Callitus Mahama. However, the people selected will still need to be approved by the local assemblies in their districts.
The new appointments cover three regions: Savannah, Bono East, and Greater Accra. The list includes the following individuals:
