Ghanaian-American pop star Amaarae has declared her admiration for dancehall musician Shatta Wale, describing him as unmatched in Ghana’s music industry despite his controversial nature.
Speaking during a party she hosted at the Republic Bar in Osu on April 28, 2025, the “Sad Girlz Luv Money” hitmaker told the audience that Shatta Wale remains a force to reckon with, regardless of his frequent clashes with industry players.
“Shatta Wale can come and insult all of us today, but tomorrow, he will drop some banger, and you will feel him. I have never felt anybody like the way I feel for this guy,” she said.
Amaarae surprised fans with a performance of Shatta Wale’s popular song Freedom, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. Her tribute highlighted the dancehall artiste’s strong influence and ability to win hearts through his music.
Although Shatta Wale is known for his outspoken and often controversial remarks, Amaarae noted that his personality and consistent musical delivery have made him an enduring figure in the entertainment scene.
The event was attended by notable figures in the creative industry, including Efya, TMSKDJ, and Annabel Rose.
