Four individuals arrested in connection with the deadly shooting incident at Asiyaw near Akwane-Dobro in the Eastern Region are expected to reappear before the Osino District Court on May 8, 2025.
The Eastern South Regional Police Command apprehended the suspects—Samuel Atsu Forson, also known as Alanyo, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, Kwesi Prince, and Benjamin Adzalekor—at separate locations following an intensive manhunt.
The arrests follow a violent confrontation between two factions over a sand-winning dispute on April 29, which led to the death of five people. The police swiftly launched investigations leading to the arrest of the suspects from their various hideouts.
The four were arraigned on May 2. While three of them—Forson, Sedonu, and Prince—were remanded into prison custody, Adzalekor was held in police custody pending further proceedings.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, with all suspects expected to face the full rigour of the law.
