Popular Ghanaian vlogger, Wode Maya, has sent a wake-up call to all Africans, suggesting a regional collaboration for the continent's growth over what he describes as our over-reliance on foreigners.
In a video shared on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on May 30, the YouTuber warned Africans over their growing trust and partnership with countries like China, Russia and Europe.
He said, "Africa can only be built by Africans. Don't let anyone lie to you! China is not your friend, and Russia is not your friend. Europeans are not your friends."
He recommended an intra-continental trade, setting aside all politricks and differences in culture, to Africa's development and would set a tone for the continent's emancipation
"It's about time for you to start trading with each other. It's about time for us to put our differences and tribal stuff aside. We should put our political affiliation aside, come together, and build Africa," he added.
Meanwhile, Wode Maya's comments have been welcomed by many netizens. Some have backed his African Unity calls, with one user saying, "This is it right here. When the colonialists divided Africa, they didn't consult us.
They drew their lines in Europe without considering families, tribes, and suddenly we found ourselves in different countries. We are siblings. Mend our differences and build our continent together "
This is my message for Africans across the world 🌎
