David Beckham shared an emotional birthday message for his close friend and former Manchester United teammate, Gary Neville. On Tuesday, Neville celebrated his 50th birthday.
Beckham, who played with Neville at Old Trafford from 1992 to 2003 before moving to Real Madrid, posted the heartfelt message on social media to honor his friend.
Taking to Instagram, the Inter Miami co-owner uploaded two photographs of himself with Neville from their United days as his story and wrote: "Happy 50th mate. Couldn't have asked for a better friend to always be there for me." In the second story, he wrote: "We did it all. Love u mate, Happy 50th."
Gary Neville, his brother Phil, and former Manchester United teammates Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, and Paul Scholes each bought a 10% share in Salford City, a lower-league football club. The remaining 50% was owned by Singaporean businessman Peter Lim.
In 2019, David Beckham joined his former teammates, purchasing a 10% stake from Lim. Then, in August last year, Neville bought out all of Lim’s shares, making him the majority owner of the League Two club.
