Radio presenter Ohemaa Woyeje has encouraged her colleague, Deloris Frimpong Manso, known as Delay, to adopt a friendlier approach in her interviews.
This advice follows recent backlash against Delay for her reportedly harsh comments towards Madam Akua Donkor, leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP).
Ohemaa noted that many media figures build personas that set specific expectations for their guests.
Nonetheless, she criticized Delay’s handling of the interview and the negative remarks directed at Akua Donkor, calling for a more respectful tone, regardless of on-air style or personality.
“Delay should try to be more humane, especially since this woman is old enough to be her mother. From the video I saw, it was clear that Akua Donkor was upset, and that reaction was understandable. I believe that Delay's approach was unfair, but I also don’t support the curses that were cast against her,” she stated in an interview on Kingdom FM.
The discussion gained traction after an old video resurfaced, showcasing Delay’s harsh tone and choice of words directed at Madam Akua Donkor on the ‘Delay Show.’
In response to the video's circulation, Akua Donkor revealed in a recent interview that she has cursed Delay and has no intention of revoking those curses.
She expressed her ongoing bitterness over the situation, especially given that Delay has not shown any signs of remorse.
