What Abedi Pele said about the 2024 general elections

Black Stars legend Abedi Ayew Pele has advised Ghanaians to approach the 2024 general elections with calmness, discipline, and tolerance.

He urged voters to prioritise peace over conflict, no matter the provocations throughout the electoral process.

The four-time African Player of the Year also emphasised the need for discipline among citizens as they select leaders capable of steering the nation through its current challenges.

During an appearance on Max TV, Abedi Pele encouraged political parties and their followers to fulfil their part of the bargain and ensure the maintainance of peace and stability during this crucial period.

"We are all here to ensure that the elections proceed smoothly and peacefully, without any disruptions. The entire country should listen and demonstrate patience. We often say that patience can move mountains. We must exercise patience and allow our leaders to work towards bringing peace to our nation," he stated.

The 2024 general elections are scheduled for December 7, 2024.

Prominent contenders include Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and John Dramani Mahama, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), along with candidates from other political parties, all competing for the presidency.
