A strong supporter of Kennedy Agyapong has stepped away from his camp to back someone he now believes is a better choice to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
George was very active during the NPP's 2024 presidential primaries.
He worked hard to get votes for Kennedy Agyapong, especially in places like Juaben and Ejisu.
Even though Kennedy lost badly to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who was Ghana's Vice President at the time, George's efforts, especially on the campaign's communication front, were highly significant.
Now, George no longer sees Kennedy as the right person to follow.
While he hasn't publicly given detailed reasons for his decision, sources suggest that Kennedy's attitude and how he treats people may have pushed George to walk away.
"I regret to inform you of my decision to withdraw as a member of Team Ken Communications, effective immediately", he said in an official statement.
He stressed he is now focusing on the right candidate for the party who, to many people, is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

WITHDRAWAL FROM TEAM KEN CAMPAIGN AND COMMUNICATIONS
I regret to inform you of my decision to withdraw as a member of Team Ken Communications, effective immediately.
This decision bears no malice against Team Ken, but ultimately intended to firmly establish my unalloyed allegiance and loyalty to a NEW ASPIRANT in the impending presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party.
I wish you well in your campaign.
.......Signed.....George Opoku Amponsah(Former Juaben Constituency Coordinator, Team Ken)
