Renowned hiplife artiste Okyeame Kwame has opened up about one of his biggest regrets in life—breaking the heart of a woman he once loved, a decision that continues to haunt him more than two decades later.

In an interview on Accra-based Peace FM, the 'Rap Doctor' revealed how his past actions deeply affected not only himself but also the woman he left behind. According to him, he was in a committed relationship with a lady in the United States, with whom he had serious plans for marriage.

"I had a girlfriend when I was in the US, and we even had plans to marry. But I moved back to Ghana with the promise that we would get married when I returned. However, when I got back to Ghana, I got another girlfriend," he confessed.

Faced with the dilemma of managing two relationships, Okyeame Kwame made the difficult decision to end things with his girlfriend abroad.

"So I had to break up with the first one because I could not manage two girlfriends," he admitted.

His decision devastated the woman, who struggled to cope with the heartbreak. Okyeame Kwame recalled instances where she would call him late at night, crying over the pain of the breakup.

"I think that what I did to her hurt her so much that she lost faith in men. And it wasn't like she was a bad person—this was a good woman whom I wanted to marry," he said.

Despite the passage of time, Okyeame Kwame disclosed that the woman is yet to fully move on, a reality that weighs heavily on his conscience.

"This happened 23 years ago, and until now, she has been unable to find someone to love. I still feel bad about it," he lamented.

The celebrated musician, known for his deep insights on love and relationships, acknowledged the lasting impact of his past choices and expressed his hope that the woman he once loved finds happiness and closure.
