MC Yaa Yeboah questions police silence on Kofi Adomah's shooting

Media personality MC Yaa Yeboah has expressed concern over the Ghana Police Service’s silence regarding the shooting incident that left broadcaster Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii with serious injuries.

Speaking on United Showbiz, aired on UTV on March 15, 2025, Yaa Yeboah questioned why the police have yet to provide any updates on their investigations or actions taken to apprehend the perpetrator.

"Why haven't we heard from the police about Kofi's case till date? Have they been forced not to work on the issue? Because that's what it looks like. Even the recent Nungua shooting incident has seen the suspect remanded. So why hasn't the person caught on camera in this case been arrested or dealt with?" she asked in Twi.

She further suggested that the lack of progress raises concerns about possible interference in the case.

"I don’t want to believe that some prominent individuals are lobbying for the case to be overlooked to protect the suspect. But how else do we explain this silence?" she questioned.

Yaa Yeboah urged the police to act swiftly, emphasizing that justice must prevail.

"As we speak, we don’t even know if the suspect has been arrested. There has been no police statement, absolutely nothing. The laws work in this country, so the police should act on it as quickly as possible," she stressed.

Her remarks have sparked discussions on social media, with many calling for accountability from law enforcement regarding the case.

Background

A few months ago, Kofi Adomah and his team from Angel FM/TV, Kofi TV, and MagrahebTV traveled to Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono Region to cover the Dormaa Kwafie Festival and the 25th anniversary of Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II.

During the event, a gunman fired a musket at Kofi’s face, leaving him with serious eye injuries that required multiple surgeries.

To help cover the cost of another surgery, a GoFundMe account has been set up to raise funds.
