
Carlo Ancelotti's son, Davide, set to become Botafogo head coach- Sources

Davide Ancelotti, son of former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, is set to be named as Botafogo's new head coach, according to sources.
The announcement followed the resignation of Renato Paiva, who left after Botafogo’s early exit from the FIFA Club World Cup.
Renato's side lost on June 30 following their 1-0 defeat to Brazilian rivals Palmeiras.
Davide, 35, was Botafogo owner John Textor's top candidate to replace the departed Renato Paiva.
Consequently, Davide has signed an 18 months contract with contract with Botafogo until December 2026.
However, information about the incoming head coach’s salary and other financial arrangements remains undisclosed.
This is a milestone in Ancelotti's life, as this wouldbe his first job as a head coach having assited his dad since 2012 to 2025 even presently his assistant in Brazil.
He has been with his father since the latter's days with PSG, where Davide was assistant fitness coach right until 2025 when the two-time Madrid coach moved to Brazil.
Since leaving Madrid at the end of the season, Davide had been linked with Glasgow Rangers and newly promoted Serie A side Pisa.
Meanwhile, Davide's first game is likely to be on Saturday when Botafogo visits Vasco da Gama.
Botafogo are eighth in the league standings, six points adrift of leaders Flamengo.
